Orissa is the fourth largest state of India in terms of forest cover, its per capita land under forest doubles the national average. The data itself signifies the immense care which has been shown towards the preservation of the greenery and wildlife in Orissa which are an important mark on the landscape of Orissa. The state has around 18 wildlife sanctuaries, three national parks and three wildlife reserves. These sanctuaries and parks are spread in an area of 6611 sq. kms, the forests lands cover around 37% of the total land area of the state. The marine sanctuaries like Gahirmatha added another 20 kms to the area.

Despite belonging to different linguistic divisions, the tribes of Odisha (Orissa) have many socio-cultural similarities, and together they characterize the notion of tribalism. Tribal societies share certain common characteristics and by these, they are distinguished from complex or advanced societies. In Odisha, tribal societies have remained outside the main historical current of the civilization for centuries. Therefore, they manifest cultural features signifying a primitive level of socio-cultural existence.

Day 1 : Arrival at Calcutta. City tour in Night.

Kolkata also known as Calcutta which was the official name until 2001) is the capital and largest city of the Indian state of West Bengal. It lies on the eastern bank of the Hooghly River, 80 km (50 mi) west of the border with Bangladesh. It is the primary financial and commercial center of eastern and northeastern India.[16] Kolkata is the seventh most populous city of India with an estimated city proper population of 4.5 million (0.45 crore). It is the centre of the Kolkata Metropolitan Region, one of the most populous metropolitan areas in the world with a population of over 15 million (1.5 crore) residents. Kolkata is the de facto cultural capital of India and historically and culturally significant city in the historic region of Bengal.It is the second largest Bengali-speaking city in the world. It has the highest number of Nobel laureates among all cities in India.

Day 2 : Calcutta to Balesore-Chandipur

Train CCU/Balasore 1400/1735 + trf by bus to Chandipur.
Balasore, also known as Baleswar, is a city in the state of Odisha, about 194 km north of the state capital Bhubaneswar and 300 km from Kolkata. It is best known for Chandipur beach.Chandipur, is a resort town in Balasore DistrictOdishaIndia. The town is located on the shore of Bay of Bengal and is approximately 16 kilometers from the Balasore Railway Station. Its beach is unique in a way that the water recedes up to 5 kilometers during the ebb tide. Due to its unique circumstances, the beach supports biodiversity.

Day 3 : Chandbali to Bhitarakanica

Charter bus to Chandbali; boat to Bhitarkanilca.
Chandabali is an old town in the Bhadrak district of Odisha on the bank of the River Baitarani.Before the 19th century AD, Chandabali was a small fishing village, and a natural river port. In 1866, trading began from this port to Bengal and in 1881, it was declared a government port by the British government. This led to growth and development of a market for agricultural produce. Bhitarkanika National Park is a 145 km2 (56 sq mi) large national park in northeast Kendrapara district in Odisha in eastern India.Surrounded by Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary, which spread over 672 km2 (259 sq mi). Gahirmatha Beach and Marine Sanctuary are to the east, separating the swamp region and mangroves from the Bay of Bengal. The national park and wildlife sanctuary is inundated by the rivers Brahmani, Baitarani, Dhamra, and Pathsala. It hosts many mangrove species, and is the second largest mangrove ecosystem in India.

Day 4 : Bhitarkanika sanctuary

In the morning , first of all the visitors can enjoy a wildlife nature walk inside the sanctuary.

Embarking on a one-day boat trip through Bhitarkanika Sanctuary unveils a world of natural wonders and biodiversity. As the day begins, participants gather at the embarkation point, greeted by the promise of adventure in the heart of Odisha, India.

Setting off under the guidance of an experienced tour leader, the boat navigates through a maze of mangrove forests. The air is thick with anticipation as participants witness the intricate ecosystem unfold before their eyes. Mangrove roots snake through the water, providing shelter to an array of creatures, from darting mudskippers to vigilant kingfishers.

A highlight of the journey is the visit to the Crocodile Breeding Center, where ancient reptiles bask in the sun, offering a glimpse into their prehistoric world. Here, conservation efforts to protect these magnificent creatures are revealed, fostering a deeper understanding of their importance to the ecosystem.

Amidst the sanctuary's tranquility, a picnic-style lunch provides a moment of reprieve, allowing participants to savor local cuisine amidst the natural splendor. Energized, the journey continues towards the bird sanctuaries, where vibrant avian life thrives amidst the mangroves. Herons, egrets, and migratory birds grace the landscape, captivating observers with their graceful movements.

As the day draws to a close, the boat embarks on its return journey, tracing its path through the serene waterways. The fading light of sunset casts a golden glow over the mangroves, creating a magical atmosphere that lingers in the memory.

Back at the embarkation point, participants gather for a brief debriefing session, sharing reflections and highlights from the day's adventure. Grateful farewells are exchanged, leaving participants with cherished memories of a day spent immersed in the natural beauty of Bhitarkanika Sanctuary.

Day 5 : Bhitarkanika sanctuary- Bhubaneswar

Boat + bus /car to Bhubaneswar.
Bhubaneswar is an ancient city in India’s eastern state of Odisha, formerly Orissa. Many temples built from sandstone are dotted around Bindu Sagar Lake in the old city, including the 11th-century Hindu Lingaraja Temple. Outside Rajarani Temple are sculpted figures of the guardians of the 8 cardinal and ordinal directions. Jain antiques, weaponry and indigenous pattachitra paintings fill the Odisha State

Day 6 : Bhubaneswar-Konark - Puri

Konark Sun Temple is a 13th-century CE Sun temple at Konark about 35 kilometres northeast from Puri city on the coastline in Puri district,Dedicated to the Hindu Sun God Surya, what remains of the temple complex has the appearance of a 100-foot (30 m) high chariot with immense wheels and horses, all carved from stone. Once over 200 feet (61 m) high,much of the temple is now in ruins, in particular the large shikara tower over the sanctuary; at one time this rose much higher than the mandapa that remains. The structures and elements that have survived are famed for their intricate artwork, iconography, and themes, including erotic kama and mithuna scenes. Also called the Surya Devalaya, it is a classic illustration of the Odisha style of Architecture or Kalinga architecture.
Puri is a coastal city and a municipality in the state of Odisha in eastern India and is situated on the Bay of Bengal.Puri has been known by several names since ancient times, and was locally known as "Sri Kshetra" and the Jagannath temple is known as "Badadeula". Puri and the Jagannath Temple were invaded 18 times by Muslim rulers, from the 7th century AD until the early 19th century with the objective of looting the treasures of the temple. Odisha, including Puri and its temple, were part of British India from 1803 until India attained independence in August 1947. Even though princely states do not exist in India today, the heirs of the House of Gajapati still perform the ritual duties of the temple. The temple town has many Hindu religious mathas or monasteries.

Day : 7 Puri - Gopalpur

Drive to Gopalpur on Sea via silk weaving/pottery villages and craft  villages  en route. Gopalpur  is a commercial port, a famous sea beach and a tourist destination. Renovated in the 1970s at the initiative of the Odisha government, the jetties were supposed to revive the trading activities of Gopalpur port. The old jetty in Gopalpur is tourist attraction point, which was a major point for trade and commerce in medieval times. The sailors of those time started their journey from this jetty to Indonesia and Rangoon across the Indian Sea. Once the renovation of new jetty completed it will become an important port of south Odisha.[5] It's a wonderful drive-in for the people and from the beach, a vast expanse of deep blue sea and the horizon can be seen. Another thrilling sight is the long stretch of cashew nut trees. Cashew nuts are processed here and exported. A major landmark of Gopalpur is its lighthouse. The view from the top is splendid and one can see at a glance the entire town of Gopalpur. Gopalour is also famous for its 'beach festival' organized annually. A nearby beach is Dhabaleshwar, which also houses a temple of the same name. People here can speak English, Hindi, Odia, Bengali and Telugu.

Day : 8 Taptapani-Chandragiri

Drive to Taptapani .Taptapani is famous for its hot sulfur water spring, present in Sanakhemundi Block of Ganjam district.

The sprawling Panthanivas is the only shelter for tourists at Taptapani. The two AC suites have a common balcony and each has a huge bedroom, a dressing room and a bathroom containing a small swimming pool fed by the warm water from the hot springs.

The cottages overlook a pristine valley replete with various shades of green. Anyone can leisurely spend hours sitting here. The Dining Hall is strategically placed in between two crests of mountain fold. A few minutes walk from here will take to Kandimata Mandir where the locals take a bath in the spring before offering their daily prayers. There is also a deer park maintained by the local forest department.
A  few  kilometers away from Taptapani, the tourists can visit the Chadragiri Tibbettan settlement  camp .Chandragiriis located in Lobarsing Gram Panchayat of Mohona Block. It is famous for the tibbettan settlement camps and their monasteries.The Tibetans settlement in Odisha was established in 1963 at Chandragiri on Eastern Ghats, which is at an altitude of 930 meter and is also very near to coastal area as well as away from the urban centers drastically different from their homeland Tibet.

Day 9 : Taptapani-Rayagada

After breakfast , drive to  Rayagada via Puttasing; visiting Langia Saore Market (Puttasing) en route.
Rayagada district is a district in southern Odisha, a state in India, which became a separate district in October 1992. Its population consists mainly of tribes, primarily the Khonds and the Soras. In addition to Odia, Kui and Sora are spoken. Rayagada covers an area of 7,584.7 square kilometres (2,928.5 sq mi), and is divided into eleven blocks. Agriculture is the chief source of income, and paddy, wheat, ragi, green and black gram, groundnut, sweet potato and maize are the district's major crops.Its an interesting experience for the tourists to visit the Purttasing tribal market and interact with the local soura tribes. 

Day 10 : Rayagada- Kotahgarh

Excursion to Tumudibandh/ Kotagarh region to visit  Kutia Kondh market. Kondh tribals are visit the Kotahgarh weekly market and its always a beautiful experience to spend some time in the weekly tribal market to observe the local culture and traditions about the tribal people living in this region.

Day 11 : Drive to Jeypore

Today is Wednesday and its an opportunity to visit the most  interesting Dongria Kondh tribal market at Chatikona .enroute  visiting some desia kondhs  villages. Dongria  Kondhs tribes belonging to the Kondh  community are famous for their unique  cultural heritage .Its an interesting to witness men and women coming down the hills to sell their locally grown fruits and vegetable to the weekly market . Dongria  Kondhs  are  expert  horticulturists. Afternoon drive to Jeypore enroute visting some interesting parajas, Kondhs, Mali tribal villages. .Jeypore is a small  town and a place of historical significance in Koraput district in the Indian state of Odisha,Before  Arrive Jeypore before evening and check in to your hotel. 

Day 12 : Visit to Oankadelli-Bonda Market

Excursion  to Oankadelli Markel (Bondo tribal market).The Bondos  are one of the most important tribal group in the Indian sub continent and famous for their unique culture and traditions. They are quite  noticeable for their attire and wearing style.
Onkadeli is a very busy market and you can also find other tribal people like ,Gadaba, and Mali community in the market place making it one of the most colorful and intereting sight for the visitors..
Afternoon drive back to Jeypore enroute visiting Gadaba  tribal villages and Pottery viisages.

Day 13 : Drive to Vizianagaram

After breakfast proceed to  Vizianagaram, to board your train to  Howharh ( Kolkata) 
Vizianagaram, also known as Vijayanagaram, is a city and the headquarters of the Vizianagaram district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. Arrive at the train station and board your train for the onward destination.( Tour ends)
